Rangers Win Shoot-Out - 13-12

Thursday night at the Ballpark in Arlington was not a good night for pitchers, to say the least.

The Texas Rangers (15-14) and the Kansas City Royals (11-18) combined to crank out 26 hits and 25 runs in what was a highly entertaining baseball game.

"It was one of those crazy games where the wind was kind of blowing out and it was a good day to hit," said Michael Young, who went 2 for 3 with two runs and two walks on the night. "The Royals battled back and made it a ball game, but we found a way to win at the end."

Texas jumped out to an 8-0 in the third inning, seemingly putting the game away early, behind the big bats of Hamilton, Guerrero, and Justin Smoak and his three-run home run. But the Royals roared back, taking the lead at 12-11 going into the bottom of the eighth inning.

Texas would come back strong in the bottom of the inning as Hamilton and Guerrero knocked two homers over the right field wall back-to-back off Royals' closer Joakim Soria. It was Guerrero's second homer on the night and the solo-shot accounted for his fourth RBI.

No late-game meltdowns here either, as Neftali Feliz closed it out for Texas, striking out two of the three batters he faced to get his seventh save of the season.

"It's a great comeback, but it's a bottom-line business and we lost the game," said Royals' Manager Trey Hillman.

This was one of those games reminiscent of the 2000's where homers were launched all over the place and runs were prevalent. While Texas won, lets hope that the Rangers get back to that quality pitching they've shown up to this point. But, overall, it was a hell of a game and a blast to watch.

These two teams go at it again tomorrow night with a 7:05 start time.
