Long December

Last night's game against the Rockets aside, Jason Terry has not played well in the last 31 days.

In the first two months of the season (17 games), Terry averaged 18 points a game on 47 percent shooting.

In December (14 games), Terry's shooting percentage dropped nearly 10 points (38 percent) and his scoring dropped nearly three points to 15.1 per game.

One of the biggest parts of his game, three-point shooting, has also suffered. At 34.6 percent, Terry is on pace for his worst shooting percentage from downtown for a season since his rookie year (29.3). He made only 33.8 percent of his three's in the month of December.

The good news is Terry showed signs of life Thursday night in Houston (20 points, 7-12 shooting) and, for the month of December, Dallas was still 9-5.

For the season, JET is averaging 16.6 points and 43 percent shooting. His career averages are 16.2 points and 45 percent shooting but, for the Mavs, he has never shot less than 46 percent for the season.

JET did turn 32 in December so it could be that he is getting older. Or maybe it's just a small bump in the road of what will be another quality season for the 10-year vet.

Time will only tell.
