Caught Up In The Matrix

Shawn Marion Has Played Well Through a Left Ankle Injury Since Returning to the Lineup.

After missing three games between Nov. 18 through Nov. 24 due to a sprained left ankle, Marion has started for the Mavericks the last five games at less than 100 percent. Since his return, Marion has shot 67.3 percent from the floor (26 of 48), scoring 12.6 points and grabbing 5.4 rebounds.

Dallas has needed Marion, despite his injury, in uniform as Quinton Ross and Josh Howard continue to be sidelined with injuries of their own.

With Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Terry on the roster the onus isn't on Marion to score 25 points a game, but he is needed to get baskets in the paint and to shoot a high percentage which is something he has been able to accomplish at a high-level recently.

As the Mavericks continue to get healthy, I feel the acquisition of Marion (a four-time All-Star) is going to continue to look better and better.

For the season Marion is averaging 12.6 points per game, grabbing 6.2 rebounds and shooting 50 percent from the field.
