Dirk Nowitzki Named To All-NBA First Team

I know this isn't exactly breaking news, but Dirk Nowitzki was named to the All-NBA first team today for the 4th time in the last 5 years. This is the 9th straight year in which Dirk has been on an All-NBA team. Dirk led the NBA this year with the most 20+ point games in a row at 25. His scoring averaged was 25.9 and was good for 4th best in the league. Nowitzki also had a career high tying 26 30+ point games on the year. Dirk was also Western Conference player of the month for Apirl. Nowitzki is the only Dallas Maverick ever to be named to the NBA first team. The Dallas Mavericks also became just the 4th team in NBA history to win 50 or more games for 9 straight seasons. No other Maverick was an All-NBA selection.

Dirk had the lowest amount of "All-NBA points" and "first team votes" of the first team, narrowly defeating Tim Duncan (Dirk had 383 points and Timmeh had 378) who actually had more votes for first team All-NBA with 39 compared to Dirk's 35 (wtf?). Lebron James was the only unanimous pick.

Kobe Bryant, D-Wade, Dwight Howard, and the aforementioned Lebron James round out the first team.
